I'm in nature so I can't speak to the ice poll, unless the wording was identical to what we had. That said, that poll was rubbish and misleading, as nonnie above has said. The majority of those who took time to comment on the discussion post, or to vote "other" and give an explanation (and as someone who has run polls before, getting people to chose other and provide the other option is nigh on impossible) were in favour on not allocating official dom funds to mercing, not in favour of attempting to tell other flights what to do. I suspect a lot of people, in both ice and nature assumed that's what the poll stood for.

The notion of "politely asking other flights not to run their merc threads" was shot down pretty decisively and as a nature member I'm pissed the dom leadership (both of them) aren't doing enough to quell this nonsense or even advocates it.
