Just because something is not a death threat exactly doesn't mean that it is harmless. The people in the thread are saying it was a mean comment but ultimately a harmless (if tasteless) joke between friends that no one should be upset over. But there is a level of vilence and rage in comments like that where I feel someone could legitimately be bothered by it and it shouldn't be dismissed as just a joke.
