they eventually produced a game design document that had literally nothing a design document should have, so it was eviscerated by people who knew what they were talking about. then they commissioned a one second running animation and some shitty 3D weapon designs and that was it, they insisted more was coming but they were never heard from again afaik
I fail to see how they were being "mean"? They didn't pull any punches certainly, but they weren't being cruel -- they were being critical. Which is what people often need when they're starting a big project.
I know it has some use for the ace community. I know that I personally have some relationships that are... more than friendship?? But not at all romantic or sexual. Queerplatonic is as close to a defining term for it as I can find, in the same way that "squish" fits the warm-fuzzy feeling I get when I see someone and I want to know them in a way that is utterly lacking the sexual/romantic overtones that come with the term "crush" but is way more than the way I feel when I just think "oh that person's cool I wonder who they are" about like 90% of the people I meet.
