I can't wait for this battle! Admittedly that's mostly because I am poor and need to merc hard to fill my vault back up, but it's still an interesting matchup. I hope Nature does well!

Icicle here, and I'm looking forward to it, although I sort of dislike going up against these smaller flights because I feel like most players think of them as the underdog and cheer for/support them over us. (I also hope this doesn't get even close to as expensive as Light vs. Plague!)

i'm really interested in this one too! nature really stepped up in the light v nature battle after losing their past few conquests before that (and usually pretty closely, iirc)

i think they're in a similar position to fire right now - they've shown signs of really getting their dom shit together, but the sample sizes are really small. it's nice to see non-ice/plague/light flights pull their weight around though, so i hope they continue to do well! nothing against the big three, it's just nice to have the competition a little less lopsided.

It's clear that Plague and Light are on a similar level, with Ice not far behind, and flights like Wind and Arcane are towards the lower end, but it's really hard to place most of them.

I'd like to see a much broader spread, though, I agree. It's only really fun to go up against a flight that you are close enough in strength to (Arcane vs Plague would be a pointless waste of time and money for the former and a cakewalk for the latter), but the reputations of certain flights as being "the dom flights" further concentrates people interested in dom there and polarises things more. I'm all for more flights being competitive with the big three.

Based on the two Light/Nature battles, I'd say that Light and Nature are fairly equal? Or at least they were back when we fought, I don't know how Nature is doing now. But IIRC LvN 1 was pretty close, although neither flight prepared for it since it wasn't pre-planned, and in LvN 2 Nature seemed a bit ahead most of the time. (Lightanon here, obvs.) So I'm curious about the Nature/Ice battle coming up, and I'd definitely also be watching a Plague/Nature battle.

I wasn't around for LvN 1 but Nature had a strong showing in LvN 2, yes. Nature don't tend to be considered quite up to Plague/Light/Ice from what I've heard (Earthanon, have never been up against any of them myself), but maybe they should be? It'll be interesting, yep.

It's hard to say, because they don't push as often. But both times that I've been up against them, they did really well. So I'm very interested in how Ice vs Nature goes.

I think Light's stepped up their dom efforts a lot lately. The number of programs that have been rolled out by Light during this past dom battle is a testament to the amount of work the dom team put into prepping for the fight against Plague. I wasn't even registered on the site when LvN2 went down, but I heard that Light seriously underestimated Nature and didn't prep nearly as much, so that they basically had to play catch-up for most of the week. It's possible that the two flights are roughly equal when they're just flat-out exalting though, which makes prep even more important though obviously not the deciding factor.

I'm really interested in the Nature/Ice battle, and not just for my wallet's sake. I think Ice will come out on top because they are, as always, rich, but also because the flight population disparity won't be nearly as much of an issue for them as it was during Ice vs. Fire. I also anticipate quite a few Plaguelings coming out to support Ice after the vast amount of support Ice's dom leaders showed them during LvP. (Not to mention I expect most Acolights will decide to either support their wallet or Ice rather than Nature due to some of the *cough* more outspoken members of Nature.)

Speaking as someone who was there for LvN2: yep, we underestimated them. Probably because we won the first time (forgetting how close it was...)--and also, we discounted how much they'd want to win the rematch!

In retrospect, I think that loss is probably a part of why we were able to win against Plague--yeah, we stepped up our efforts because Plague is really great at dom and we wanted to face them on an equal footing, but also because we'd seen what happens when we get careless.

I'm a bit conflicted between "support my wallet" and "support Nature", because Nature really was a good opponent when we faced them before. But I don't know how common my feelings will be, especially since we have a lot of new people since those battles.

Honestly I didn't expect Light to show so strongly in LvP. Light (not my flight) have always tended to emphasize that profit pushes are their thing and that they don't really do conquest so much, and LvN 2 hadn't really done anything to contradict that. Kudos to Light's dom organizers, anyway. Getting lots of positive vibes from Light recently - I might try a vacation over there later this year.

If I had to support the lesser of two evils... hmmm.

On one hand, a nice handful of power exalters from Ice backed Plague due to the whole Foddart thing...

On the other hand, there are a handful of Nature peeps who STILL haven't gotten over LvN2 (even though they won!).

I guess who ever pays more can buy my power exalting support :D

Yeah I'm kind of like... who's been less salty about my flight over the months. Hmm. This is tricky.

I'm supporting whoever pays most. I'm not gonna punish the whole Ice flight because of Bob's stupidity lol.

While the way Ice handled the plagiarism situation was kind of strange, at least I can understand their anger? Meanwhile I don't understand the venom coming out of some of Nature's members considering that they won.

Also Light had some really strong Ice supporters during LvP, they just tended to be less visible than the Dom leaders. (And many of the Dom leaders did lend their support before the actual battle through the boarding stage anyways so it kind of evens out in my opinion.)

You sure it's not Light who isn't over LvN2? I see more acolights shitting on Nature on AR/DR instead of the other way around. Of course that could just be due to the representation on AR since it's so heavily light centric.

yeah. from an acolight pov, i never ever see anyone mention lvn2 anymore, in any of our chats or areas. it might as well be a random person pretending to be one of us to drag shit on

i have, however, seen (directly or via screenies) at least a few seedlings make salty remarks in their personal blogs or fr's forums, so eh

unless you count acolights complaining about nature being salty, i never see acolights complaining about nature users at all.

Thinking back on the nature of the comments you see on AR about Nature, I actually get the impression that a lot of the negativity concerning Nature doesn't so much stem from LvN2 but rather from the Arekuru Dom Watch incident. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the AR comments basically just poke fun(?) at whether or not Nature is pushing, which was, after all, what the whole Arekuru incident boiled down to. It doesn't really help matters any that some very visible Nature folks like Rhea, Sivi, and everynne (off the top of my head) do seem to nurse some pretty impressive hateboners for Light.

Sivi and everynne are the two that come to mind. On site and off site, they're seriously overworking the salt mines.

Yeah honestly I liked Rhea despite what everyone said...until last week during LvP when it felt like everything she was posting was anti-light, be it about the ice stuff or trying to perpetuate the drama with plague. There was literally no reason for her to try to stick her nose into any of that, none of it involved nature, and yet somehow she and Sivi both decided that they both needed to try to get involved anyway.

as a lightnon myself, i'll be supporting my wallet for sure! it is way too empty after this, lol. also, i don't have enough good feelings about icedom right now to warrant any generosity with fodder, tbh.

same. usually i pick a side and send plenty of free fodder, part of the fun of other flights dom for me is cheering one on hardcore, but i think this time the only one i'm cheering for is my wallet haha.

kinda wanna see a betting pool put together for the fight on AR.
