Not in Nature anymore but from what I remember there's a couple of general chatter threads, you can try those. Did you ever make an introduction thread? That can help if you share some interest I've seen friendships flower (all the plant puns are a must) up from nothing just from happening to like the same book/show/etc.
Also to at least get some conversation going, post on people's "look at my pretty dragon!" threads. There's usually a few of those. I was always more cautious of those because they often turned into "well if you think it's so pretty maaaaaybe you'll buy it!".
If you are comfortable with offsite things, the Skype was way active from what I recall.
If you're interested in Dom join a Grove! They're non-competitive teams (versus the guilds which are the competitive ones) and a good way to get into Dom socially.
