personally I would gift them like 30-50kT since they were so polite about it (I like gifting newbies and that is a small sum for me personally but good enough for a newbie) and tell them to buy dragons from the AH/forum sale threads, but I'd also tell them that unsolicited begging messages aren't ok (it's ok to inquire about whether some dragons are for sale, but be prepared to make a nice offer, etc)

I wouldn't do that. If you give them 30-50k, what do you think they are going to take out of it? That unsolicited begging messages aren't okay or that unsolicited begging works and they should do more of it? I think it is very much going to be the latter. Especially as the OP says that the person is not a newbie.

I'd personally do what the other nonnie said and say that you sometimes breed some of them (list which ones) and ask if they wanted to be pinged when you are selling the hatchlings. Or something like that. Be polite, as they were polite, but don't reward unsolicited begging.

and that's why along with the gift I would also include a message explaining what's ok and what isn't
they were polite enough that I have enough faith they wouldn't go around begging if explicitly told not to - the gift is just a sign of good faith, not a "reward" for bad behavior
they may be a kid but they're not a dog... if they're gonna continue being shitty, it's not because they haven't been trained properly lol
if they're a shitty user, they'll continue their shitty behavior regardless of gifting or what they've been told is and isn't acceptable

to be clear, I'm not expecting OP to gift them anything, it's only what I would personally do... for a (polite) newbie. but I somehow missed that part in OP's post so it's a moot point anyway
