Nah, it's just the Skinspiracy. Admin have no way of knowing if people who don't win will or won't print their rejects no matter how much support there was for them in the competition thread.
Just to add to this- it's always trotted out when people are unhappy with the things that get selected, but I don't think it's a good measure of the admin's motives. After all, if they awarded every "good reject" with a place we'd have 500 skins and accents every festival.
It's easier to subscribe to this idea that the admin are going for a cash grab than it is to admit that maybe the skin/accent someone liked didn't fit the skin rules and/or was too far off from the theme as interpreted by the admin judging the contest. Sometimes thinking outside of the box isn't a benefit to your chances.
Some skins and accents look amazing BECAUSE they broke a rule or guideline. They stand out because there is literally nothing else on site like them (or at least nothing from previous festival winners).
And it's similar to how some people can almost always win when they enter. They've figured out how to hit the style and theme dead-on.
