I agree that it's petty to go into a thread just for that, but honestly the op post did originally say:
"This is a discussion I made for my friends, and you can join, but you might have no idea what we are talking about. I actually know these people in real life, so we will talk about school and stuff. So come on and join!"
They only edited the op when someone called them out on it.
