uh, did you not read about the complaints of ppl on site? it's double layers of work. with kanojo, you just do the[ IMG ] kanojo.de/xxxxxxx [ /IMG ] ] thing. If you wanna go through the FR site itself, you have to [ IMG ]flightrising.com/imageurlhere[ /IMG ]. Given that there's no way to search efficiently for the image url, you have to [ item=xxxxx ] the thing (which incidentally only work for the owner of the dragon) and then copy the imageurl into the [ img ] tag.
i think the main issue lies in the "open AH/forums" bit. it relies on a bit of chance and is not 100% reliable (eg what if no one's selling the thing etc, though i wouldn't know, since i don't have items in my own bios tbh). the real solution would be for FR to make it's own searchable database so people'll shut up about kanojo like they clearly want...?
its the same number of steps if you know precisely what items you need. when you dont, kanojo's better search is more useful for finding nice items to use. i know sure dont have the name and appearance of every item on fr memorized
I don't know about your preferences, anon, but to me a proper database format is still better to use because of the way you can customize searches. The information you get is also presented in a more legible manner. It's my impression that many users also feel this way.
Because it's so much better to wake up one day and have the surprise of having your bios fucked up because you've been hotlinking a site that goes against the TOS, right?
I'm not saying people shouldn't use kanojo. But if your problem is trying to get pictures to work on your bios, find what you want there and then got do a contrl+F on those forum lists.
wait, i'm sorry, i'm not understanding something. why can't you just use [item=item name]? that's what i've been doing, and it seemed like it worked...?
it only shows up that way for you, the owner of the dragon whose bio you put it in. For it to be equally visible for everyone looking at your dragon bio, you have to do the img thing. I hope that makes sense?
yeah, i get it now. it never occurred to me that that would happen? why is that how it works? every once in a while something on fr just leaves me shaking my head
coding problems, which FR have in abundance, haha. I mean, I'm not hostile to the admins but seriously there are so many things that can be constructed in a more user-friendly way.

Seems about the same number of steps to get one off FR.
Open AH/forums > find item > copy image URL > paste
