How do people who are waiting for specific G1s to hatch find them? As in, is there a way to search through G1 dragons specifically?

I've been wondering about this for ages, because people even find dragons that have been named other than "gen one" or similar, and somehow people seem to find nice G1 triples whenever someone hatches one of those. Do you just search for specific color combinations and look through all the newly hatched dragons of that combo? Is there a way to search through ranges of color, other than this brute force approach?

I'd love to know so I can keep an eye out for the crimson/sunshine/ivory girl I've been daydreaming about, but also just because I like looking at G1s. :)

There's several ways.

Some people just manually search for all 67 triples. I know someone who found one this way.

I use a method where I plug in as many variables as I can (so gender, basic/basic/basic) and then 2 colors at a time depending on what my range is (so if I was after purple/green-range/orange I'd plug in purple-x-orange and cycle through the greens)

And then there's the G1 pinglist which now has a classifieds section with accompanying search feature, so some people use that. I think the more avid searches will search-crawl a few times a day, though.

I think a lot of people tend to lurk more on the dragon search page instead of in the AH, so they can see immediately if someone hatches a new one or if there might be one that someone is willing to give away.

I keep hoping that color range searches are a suggested feature the admin will add at some point, because a lot of people have liked the idea of, say, searching red-range/gold/gold or something like that in cases of less popular color combinations.
