I'm not even sure where I stand on this issue. After LvP, I can't entirely blame other competing flights for wanting to do what they can to avoid fodder prices from rocketing so high. But as a member of one of those flights, who donated quite a bit of personal savings (no regrets), it does feel a bit like "we'll happily take your money but you can't take ours." Previously when I felt guilty when I sold a few merc dragons during IvF, I also knew mercs would do the same to us when our battle came, likely much worse in fact. But turnabout is fair play in my mind.
But aside from that, honestly, the best - most memorable and most interesting - Dom battles IMHO, from both an internal and external perspective, have always been the ones where both teams go balls-to-the-walls, and are willing to throw down everything. The more flights try to control outside factors, like price agreements, etc., the less exciting a battle typically ends up.
This may or may not be true in the case of IvN with their lack of raffle or vault sponsored merc-ing, but it definitely makes me less interested in paying attention to this particular dom battle. But of course, the participating flights probably don't give a rat's ass about my entertainment value ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes! I love the adrenaline rush with those Dom battles. Don't get me wrong, I love Profit/Soft Pushes too, but if I'm battling for Dom, I'm exalting everything, vault and my wallet too.
Entertainment value is the best thing in dom battles :D Seriously. Dom can be won in opportunistic ways in any other week, why schedule a battle if you're not willing to include all flights by making it a beautiful show? That's most of the fun. Even bragging rights aren't as exciting if you didn't attract much of an audience.
Considering how everything aligned so well for LvP (no festivals, plenty of time to save, very fat pockets and a desire to BURN it all from both sides) we are extremely unlikely to see LvP fodder price levels for a long time to come. Ice's way too cheap to replicate that, tbh. Not even sure why they worry.

I ignore the week if it's fixed prices.
That's not a Dom battle, that's a profit battle.
Light and Plague this week are probably more entertaining than IvN will be.
