Eh. He never said he was going to edit it, nor would it be any good. I think three months is responsible on that grounds.

I am doing a writing challenge for myself this summer, and I have about 80k words in a month and a half along with working part time. Most of it is unedited (I just am trying to get used to the act of writing again, though), so I think even then it isn't completely impossible. It is his summer break too, after all.

Just to clarify, I am not saying it is not a scam, knowing him. Just that the impression that 50k is a lot of words is a bad one to have. 55,000 may be roughly the size of a Young Adult novel, but word count does NOT account for the quality of those words.
