anonrising | #46 - Bet your heart skipped a beat

nonnies i just want to show you the photo i took of a toadstool (amanita muscaria) because i made it my goal in april to find one this summer as a way to keep me on track with my depression and i FINALLY FOUND ONE and it was as cute and perfect as i had hoped it would be!

my next goal is to find a bears head mushroom in the fall because that shit is tasty man, apparently it tastes like lobster

also last night on my hike i saw three (!!) barred owls hanging out in the path. they flew into a tree and just checked me out for like thirty minutes. it was magical

my depression can go fuck itself i'm doing great, Thanks Nature

ooh this is so adorable!! there are no mushrooms (or owls, or... anything pretty much) where i live (too urban), it's cool to see this kind of stuff :D

i actually live in an urban city too, but we're lucky enough to have a river valley and lots of hiking trails right in the middle of the city! it's been super super rainy here too, like unnaturally, so i picked a good year for this lol

here are some other cute mushrooms i found...

a river valley sounds lovely o: omg. for some reason those mushrooms remind me of pops! NATURAL MUSHROOM POPS. ~~i wonder if are they edible? if i were left in a forest to live for a while i'd probably end up eating all toxic things ahaha~~

they aren't edible tho, most of the little ones like this aren't. some are super toxic, others will just give you a trip lol. i haven't really found any good edibles yet

tonight i did not find a bear's head mushroom BUT i found one of its cousins, the comb tooth mushroom! i'm unable to eat the one i took home with me because i put it in a basket with other mushrooms of unknown toxicity but i'm excited! this means there is good news for the fut

ure. plus it's such a pretty little mushroom and it smells really good. basically no bugs or mites either which is good for me because i have enough anxiety about bringing wild mushrooms inside because of all the little buggies

also we saw barred owls again!!! this time they were being chased by a small little bird. maybe they tried to eat its babies i don't know, but it was a funny sight.

these are the cutest! too bad you can't eat the one you caught, but hey, no bugs is a giant plus -is easily squicked by bugs-
