Last month (I think?), there was a Dom battle. It was quite close. I sent consolation gifts to the leaders of the defeated Flight, since I knew they worked hard. One of them never replied, but removed the attachments. I'm wondering now if sending gifts was too much? Just wish list stuff, nothing super expensive, but did I go too far?
Okay, cool! I like sending out random gifts (not like, BlazingReshiram style gifts, lol). I'd hate to think that I upset someone by doing so. I thought maybe it was too much.
It's terribly unlikely they got offended. Some people just don't reply to those kind of messages for various reasons, like not knowing what to say in response, shyness, or sometimes they mean to send a thank you back, but they forget, like nonny above me said
as someone quite possibly from that flight (T from Wind) - for us leaders it can quite often be a problem of forgetting, yes! the time after each push is incredibly exhausting, because that's when all the tension drains away and you're just left spent and STILL have to organize things, get the flight back on track, be there for those who were upset by the loss, round up post-battle feedback, start raffle drawing and handing out of prizes--so it's a lot to do, and not enough time to do it.
oftentimes, it's also hard to reply because you can't find the right words for it--the gifts and encouragement messages are always really sweet, and i personally often get stuck trying to write an answer that's just as heartfelt. and then i can't manage it, and a day goes by, and another day goes by, and then it's too awkward to reply because i've waited too long but i still feel indebted to the person who messaged me. another thing is that sometimes i really want to give back to the person who messaged me, but don't have the money or items to do it right away, so i have to spend some time before i can gift them something worthwhile in return. or i decide to do art, and get stuck with it but refuse to give up.
buuuut, there's pretty much a 99.999% guarantee that the person you sent your gifts to yelled about it happily in the flight chat or to friends (i know i've literally cried after receiving some post-battle messages and gifts because that was so sweet of the people and i was overcome with emotions), so your gifts were definitely received and enjoyed, and the people you messaged feel really grateful.
more personal stories, but i remember back... uh, october last year i think, or maybe november, i got a message from someone thanking me for my work with the PB and a little gift (a treasure chest, i think), and to this day i get so ridiculously happy and emotional when i think about it. i mean, that person didn't even have to send me anything or even thank me, but they still did and my nerd heart still goes doki about it. some people on FR are so damn nice
Did I do something wrong?
