as a fire flighter ive been really excited for fire vs water but if this is waters "big guns", i am not sure if i am that excited anymore....

Maybe they're holding out for the rivalry fight? I know NvP is usually HUGE, so maybe they're keeping the good stuff in reserve for their Rival Flight(tm)

Considering how much raffles can vary within one flight, I wouldn't be so quick to judge them, fellow Fire non. They could be planning a very different approach to their thing with us.

Also, they still have another 3~ months to prepare. Things can change a lot in three months.

I wouldn't count them out just yet. As an old player from first join? I remember when Plague got crushed by Water. A lot has changed since then and it's been a few years but I remember. Plague might too so that could be why they pulled out all the stops. I was in Water back then too.

meh, flameforgers is coming too, i think both flights can afford to spend now and still have time to save up for a very nice fight by november

Also we don't really know how well they're doing. Being in second doesn't tell us anything other than they're doing worse than plague, and if they were anywhere close that would be impressive.

as someone in water, we have a much better planning run-up to fvw--plague kept going back and forth on if they were going to conquest against us so we weren't sure if we were actually going to be conquesting until relatively recently

compare that to us already having the theme and everything planned out months in advance of fvw

yeah I just checked and we didn't actually hear a confirmation from plague that we were going to fight until june 20, which means we had about a month to prepare for our current conquest. we didn't get the theme until june 30

Typical from Plague. No worries Water. As an Ember, we're eagerly awaiting our fight. I hope our dom team is more in touch with your team than Plague has been.

Weird, I'm in Plague and we voted on the theme for that push vs Water way before June 20th.

I had heard a Plague friend comment on this a long time ago too... I wonder if Plague's organizers are dropping the ball :/

that IS weird, when did you guys know for sure you were going to conquest against us?

Looking through our Dom thread, it looks like rinrar announced the final date (we had the idea for months, but Plague was wishy-washy about it) it June 20th and the theme was finalized June 30th. So we've had a month, about, to plan everything. Meanwhile, the WvF has been set since around late-March to early April.

So... 1 month vs. 6. Pretty massive difference.

It's worth considering that FR has had a slip in active, dedicated users lately (nothing really new for ages, blah updates, reg windows keeping the updates from being weekly, general userbase fatigue), a lot of newbies and that Water just generally doesn't give a fuck.
