And they always assume people are pulling the OOF ratio to whine that they aren't training and exalting hard enough.
No, friends, we know you're exalting. We know you are putting effort. We respect your effort. However, the thing is, the rest of us are doing exactly the same as you, and we're only so far behind because everything you pull OOF is weighed as if you had trained it yourself.
I can understand "my dom userbase is smaller than yours because we are a smaller flight" but even your dom userbase isn't 3x smaller than mine. In fact, with dom players migrating to Earth, I wouldn't even be surprised if they were roughly the same size.
im pretty sure fr would consider those sorts of comments harassment. i, personally, dont care if someone who wants me literally dead gets flack for it, but i imagine the fr admins do care
dont get yourselves in trouble over this pathetic bigot yall
A push with a joint theme which does not aim to wreck the dom banks and feed into greedy players that are complaining half an hour after rollover when the prices are not raised. :)
Honestly, can we stop with the "greedy players"? I dare anyone who plays this card to deny they've ever been the one watching payouts and the AH during a contested battle. How many of you were anticipating LvE because of money? It's hypocritical as shit.
Besides, I am guessing AYART was asking what a friendly push was in response to "who cares who wins?" No one in any of the parent posts said it wasn't a fight because of payouts or raffle prizes.
The breeding thing is just silly. I can see the naming thing just because for some people it's annoying to see unnamed on the offspring list.
HOWEVER
If names are that important to you and you're selling them for exalt fodder prices anyways... just name them yourself before you put them up. At fodder prices people will buy them regardless.
Don't forget Nature absolutely wiped Ice in 2016 back in March. There was that good bit of flip right at the end but that was it for Ice. Honestly Nature packs more of a punch than people really expect from them, and I live for it.
oh, she reminds me of me. i do the same thing. i talk a LOT irlโ never stop talking reallyโ but i ghost everyone when texting because i feel really awkward talking online and i'm also extremely forgetful. it's probably not just you. texting is really hard for some of us. talk to her about it.
Either people are right that the ratio impacts the Dom meta too much or, and this is what I'm leaning to, a level doesn't equal 1 point and is more in the decimals.
If my theory could be correct in any way, then the reason Light lost to Earth was because they did not control OoF. From the data I recorded, Light exalted nearly 4 times in flight to what Earth exalted in flight. But Earth took in 7k less dragons in their raffle than earth. Mercs orders were also low that week as earth had little reason to buy and light focused inflight.
Whether or not light had the money or the manpower to do that is debatable since earth went all out. That all being said, if levels do count 1 for each level then the ratio mixed with the meta is broken. But personally I don't think levels way anywhere near 1 each (even when factoring actual activity levels).
Yeah, rolling with Light again since that's the last Flight they seriously went against, 100 players who are heavy into Dom moving to Earth is at least equivalent to 300 players who are heavy into Dom moving to Light, if not more. And I suspect that there's even more of an impact than the pure numbers suggest, because Earth seems to be the least "on the face" appealing of the Flights, so probably a lot of people who have joined it are active exalters, so there's less need to "compensate" like in the bigger Flights.
I think you mean "Light took in 7k less dragons"! I do remember some orders from Light and Earth that week, but prices shot up fast. (Very unsurprisingly!)
If levels are worth decimals, I wonder if perhaps there is some small difference between levels (ex. five level 5s not being exactly the same as a 25). Very hard to test for, if not impossible, since it would only show up with a large amount of exalts...
I was in Ice for that push and god that was the end of Ice for me personally. It's debatable but I felt the flight wasn't into that push. Nature seemed way better managed even then. That's why I feel like Nature is the third dom flight now that Ice and Plague aren't what they used to be.
If Nature can get at least one flip with Earth then that would cement them as better than Light in my book.
Thank you! Then going by the numbers released here: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/frd/2392527/2#post_32620579
Light had 140,089 dragons divided by 450 equals 311 dragons exalted per person.
Doing just inflight, take the total dragons minus 28,358 oof dragons = 111,731 inflight dragons divided by 450 people = ~248 dragons exalted per person. (dividing levels by dragons, looks like average level around 4.5, but I may have confused numbers there)
Earth had 67,634 dragons divided by 121 equals 559 dragons exalted per person.
Doing just inflight, take the total dragons minus 35,292 oof dragons = 32,342 inflight dragons divided by 121 people = ~267 dragons exalted per person. (dividing levels by dragons, looks like average level around 5.5)
Also 450/121 = 3.72 ratio
... I tried Lightning flight ^^; hopefully I haven't embarrassed myself with bad math somewhere, but don't hesitate to tell me if I have please!
iirc back in Early Days some people did test for it and it was found that it is not a linear relationship between dragon level & impact on dominance when exalted, being more exponential favouring higher levels?
This is all knowledge I stumbled into back in '13 from someone fairly shady tho who asked me to not tell anyone who told me and why, but they told me because we were discussing dom strats and I was theorizing where best to focus effort (ie. where is the cost/benefit vis a vis exalting) so they might've just been sick of me
AYRT Most does not mean all. I had hoped that someone from Nature would be around to raise prices on the spreadsheet to get the jump on Earth, because due to my timezone and schedule, I can really only be on FR from about two hours before rollover to two hours after rollover, and I wanted to sell to Nature. I was disappointed that I couldn't do it. I wasn't bashing the flights for this (I even said that I understood why they might not want to raise prices at all) or saying I would never send to them ever again. I was just disappointed. Sorry I was too eager for you and you felt I should chill out.
"earth only isn't spending more because they don't need to" That is what I meant by conserving resources. Not that they didn't have the money to spend, but why should they spend money that they don't need to spend? That's basically throwing money away.
SA (don't usually reply, so I hope I used it correctly)
Mostly, my question was: what the fuck is a friendly battle? It either is or isn't a battle? Are you both going to the first or did you decide beforehand who takes which place? If you wanted a friendly push and don't care who wins, why did both flights announce conquests?
And I'm not talking about payouts - surprisingly, not everyone is that thirsty for treasure.
Please match Earth's payouts. I really want to support you in your attempt to dethrone the powerhouse, but you can't expect to win if you are paying less than them.
Interesting. So it looks like the flights were about equal with their inflight leveling, with 248 vs 267 dragons exalted per person. Which would mean the ratio for just inflight exalting would hopefully work about right. But it also means that Light never had a chance and was never close, because they only took in about 28k OOF dragons and Earth took in about 35k OOF dragons which the dom ration would skew even more toward Earth.
And I'm really impressed by the Earth numbers. Both dragons per person and number of dragons accepted OOF. They are scary good.
