I'm getting so bored of fr, that I dropped thousands of gems on old g1s this week in hopes that scattering and geneing them would motivate me to stick around. Since I'm broke now at least maybe I have a goal to collect enough to make them pretty.
Imo fr is getting pretty dull with no new breeds or activities. Festivals have no point now thanks to people bitching against retiring things. Notn is fun but it's once a year, and events like April fools, valentine's, and the anniversary are few and far in between. It's getting harder to make money unless you're a big dom/coli person, have lots of money to start with, or are a popular accent artist.
anon above whos been playing consistently for 4 years
all i really do is dress up my dragons with new apparel from time to time and give them new genes to see what babies they produce. i have desirable colors tho so im able to sell them. i like checking up on those babies too, seeing what people have done with them.
I've only played for four years in April, but I agree.
No new fairgrounds in forever, and even the last of those, Artifracture, was another match three, because we didn't already have variations on thatvwith Shock Switch and Tidal Trouble. And they haven't come up with adventure mode. No new game play mechanic things really since Baldwin, and he was a letdown from what I was hoping for. Tossing things in once every half an hour to rely on RNG to maybe get what I need is frustrating, not fun.
Breeding my pretty dragons is pointless because dragons don't sell except for fodder. Unless I'm willing to constantly regene them in the newest genes (which I'm not generally), and even that only lasts a month or so. And I don't feel like I want to buy new dragons because of that and because I'm fully maxed out with my lair.
Leveling is only profitable for fodder not 25s because of eliminate prices, and I'm so tired of the Mire. And even with that I'm worried about what the revamp will due. I'm sure they will finally allocate the extra points the enemies had that were supposed to be allocated when the stones worked properly. And I'm sure the dodging/AGI thing will also mess up the allocation of stats. And while I appreciate them adding more enemies to the coli in that I like familiars, it really dilutes the loot pools. I tried to grind for metal claws, and I only saw the enemy that dropped them a handful of times and only had them drop twice in almost 2 hours. How is that fun in the slightest?
And then there are festivals. They used to be events. And now I can just toss a couple of things in Baldwin's and be done with it. I don't feel any pressure to get things because they won't retire. And with that it's also now worthless to sell holiday currency, so no point in collecting it for that either.
And while I do like the recolors on their own, they tanked the sprite market, so the extra set I bought (minus light sprite) to help me save to use to maybe get a skycat lost lots of value, which is very discouraging. It feels like there is nothing to invest in at all. And I'm not an artist, so I can't make money that way either. So basically I have to grind exalts for hours in the Mire to get anything. Again, not fun. And not worth it really when things to buy are either way out of my league (KS stuff) or cheap.
I have many days when I wonder why I bother to log in at all. And I have a friend who joined when I did who gave up months ago. I used to love FR. I love the idea of FR. But I just can't get excited about it really anymore.
So, yeah, all of that to basically say I agree. I hope your gen one plan works to get you interested again.
Those prices. I don't get them. I can't find any logic in them, any double costs a fortune no matter how unsalvageably ugly it is, some weird XYZ combos end up getting thousands of gems in auctions while right next to them nice colors with all three of them matching and matching eyes don't get any interest and end up exalted.
If this one (now basic) sells for 50k again, like most of those I try to auction, that's it, I'm out of this weird market XD
I'm close to nuking my account. The past several months I've been logging in for dailies, feed the dragons, and that's it. I adore dragons, but when there isn't much to do with them... what's the point? It's a familiar and clothing/skin collecting simulator. The dragons can be switched out for dog doodoo and it wouldn't make a difference.
The different dragon species don't have any difference beyond breeding times, coli stats when hatched, and size/weight stats. Imagine how cool it would be if certain dragon species have account bonus specific to them? Or you could choose the dragons that you want to forage for food, and it's species affecting the outcome? Etc. etc. etc.
I think it's the new genes. There are newer genes that have accent colors that match with non-same colors. Someone bought a mist/peach Gen 1 from me and peach trail has purple accents in it that makes it match mist.
I prefer XYZ dragons tbh because I think XXY colors are a bit boring? I do have XXY but that's because they are deemed "valuable" and highly sought after (not purchased by me but I did hatch them myself).
The dragon you listed is nice and I would pay some money for it, not a lot but maybe in the 1-3kg range (triple basic).
