The amount of hours I spent on Neopets back in the day is, quite frankly, ridiculous. I still play the minigames from time to time, even though I long ago quit caring about my Neopets.
When I joined FR in 2014, I had high hopes for where the site would go. But alas, there's nothing to do.
Anon... all those images are of geodes that have been artificially cut and polished. They don't come out of the ground with smooth edges. In fact, if you'll look at your own images, you'll see that the unpolished bits are rough and spiky.
Heck, just look at FR's own previous art of geodes to see that they know they are pointy on the inside.
We just got finished with a team meeting regarding the progress of the beta, and had good discussions about the feedback so far. We've heard your voices loud and clear, and we are going to be attempting to change page refreshes so that they do not occur when you are moving between consecutive battles. This should hopefully create less of a disruption when playing the Coliseum for an extended period of time. We hope to have this change out during the beta soon but don't have an exact time we can provide right now.
I was kind of getting ready to quit too, and then I won a very big-ticket item in a raffle. It kind of kicked my ass because i decided to get my lair in shape in order to show big-ticket item off properly, and i've been a lot more active lately than i was for years.
I don't know what i'm trying to say here. I guess i just don't believe the site is dying so much? The forums are slow because all the activity happens on offsite chats instead. Lots of people don't even use them at all.
AR used to be really fast too, but a lot of people quit or have busier lives now, or again, have just moved to offsite chat apps like slack and discord. (not to mention that a community that thrives on drama has a tendency to drive people away.)
And if coli revamp gets its shit together, a lot more people will be able to coli on mobile, and FR will keep turning into a mobile-friendly deal, and then just opens up a whole world of new people. All they have to do is code good stuff for mobile users and they will keep their numbers up.
I don't believe the site is actually in danger of collapsing or anything. I think that's fearmongering. I've been on other petsites i thought were dying for sure like 5 years ago but they are still around today, albeit with less users online, but not like, GONE.
And sometimes people just grow out of petsites, too. People who join a petsite at launch when they are like, 15 or 17 yrs old can become completely different people when they turn into adults. The friends you make on these websites can grow and change, and suddenly you find that not a lot of people you know are playing anymore. It happens.
But there are always more friends to make. You just have to look.
As someone trying to flip from the marketplace, it's pretty shitty. I can't do anything but lose money until these same four people stop selling so low, especially since it looks like it's basically every single type of scroll that has this problem.
It's not shitty. You don't actually expect the marketplace to cater to your whim 24/7 do you? :/ Stop feeling so entitled and just wait for those (affectionately self-proclaimed) money sluts to do their thing then do yours.
I realize I'm part of the dragon market problem, but there are so many amazing dragons for fodder price that I can't imagine spending more than 50k for a non-unique (gen one, oldie, whatever) dragon. As even with that limitation, there are usually hundreds of dragons I'd like to buy but don't have the space for. I do like the theme of the hatchery though, and there are some interesting dragons there.
