AYRT I was around then, and yes, fodder did get up over 8k, but I seem to remember that generally it was 7-8k, and the higher prices were usually when a couple of flights were pushing or flights pushed a week after someone else pushed. And I whined to a friend during those instances, but I was able to train level 25s to sell for profit when fodder wasn't profitable to exalt. And now, with the price of eliminate and the price of level 25s, that is no longer a viable option.
And, yeah, this coli is faster, but not that much faster. I used to train to level 5, and level in bulk, which took about a minute and fifteen seconds per dragon. Now I have to train to level 7 to get the same amount of profit. I've not done official time trials yet, but the small trial I did to level 6 immediately after the revamp first was released took me about a minute and fifty seconds to get to 6. Obviously level 7 takes longer than that. So I'm about doubling the time it takes for the same amount of profit.
Maybe open registration will flood the site with dragons and the prices will go back down. As even breeding my own fodder will only get me an average of like three dragons a day, assuming five nests in constant use, one hatching each day.
And, yeah, I know this is petty and I should just be happy for all of the people who can use the coli now who couldn't before.
DA I've also been around a while, and I seem to recall 7000-7500 being the norm back in the day. So I think the current price is pretty high even compared to how it was.
It seems to me that this is just a temporary bump though, driven by the new coli. Once that novelty wears off, prices should go back down eventually, like in a few weeks or so. The next few days will definitely be crazy, with that exp boost that starts on the 16th. Expect prices to go up before they go down. But I'm confident they will go down in the end.
Yeah, to me it's a disaster because half of my lair is valuable old dragons and the other half is fodder breeders that don't have set pairs, some of them are old dragons too, and my lair is pretty large so I don't even remember which I should breed and which I shouldn't... I have to go and browse the dragon's page before confirming. Wish we could filter them out from being available for breeding somehow. And yes, cancel nests if needed.
This isn't playing devil's advocate imo, it's stating a fact. Like?? All the people I see doing stuff like this are LGBTQ+ themselves and most of them young.
actually being able to coli now has 1000% improved my FR experience, went from being forever poor to actually being able to buy what i want. i might actually get into gene projects now, too.
You don't believe people say and do things they believe will grant them status in a community? Things like asserting they have the proper mindset to be counted in the in-group?
Because, uh...human history has some words for you.
"no one actually believes their own morals they're just doing it for attention and no other reason" is the most garbage bargain-basement philosophy and requires having so little faith in other people that it becomes impossible to engage anyone IN good faith.
No prob, I was kind of shocked myself when OP shared the deets. I knew Pereskaia was shady, but going as far as shown in the OP/in the discord OP is in with me, was kind of an "okay this is worse than I thought" scenario.
And like that is from way-back when Pereskaia was still PhoenixWestWinds so idk what that says about it.
idk what virtue signaling is until this thread came up, but it's totally possible to both believe in what you're saying and to perform for points. the presence and composition of an audience changes how and why people express themselves the way they do.
I feel you. That's why I don't feed my dragons. My breeding pairs I'll send to a friend to feed (I give them extra food for their efforts) or they're a breed that eats first (ex. fae or ridgeback).
Aequorn posted "Achievements are currently under development and many are not functioning." http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/bug/2395198/1#post_32162145
I wonder if that means the achievement system is the next to get a revamp?
I don't think so. On the contrary, I remember one of the admins at some point saying that the achievement system would probably be one of the last elements of the site to be revamped, because it interacts with so many parts of the site. So I think they want to first rewrite all of those, and THEN the achievements.
As much as I wish it were true, non above is right. Achievemnts have been only maginally functional for the nearly 4 years I've been around. Most of the misc achievements only register sometimes and the fairgrounds one not at all. If newer ones are also broken it's definitely due to site updates elsewhere. Which definitely sucks for newer members hoping to get their achievements. I hope they fall in retroactively whenever the new system is completed if that's the case but I also kind of doubt it. And the topic was locked so... -shrugs-
I think the coli achievements just got broken (joining the previously broken collection accomplishments) due to the coli revamp.
The admins have been pretty firm for a while that achievements will be among the last things to switch over, possibly the last, because a) they're connected to so many other things (so there's no point in fixing them now since they'd have to be re-fixed for everything else that changed), and b) they're a pretty minor part of the site.
Stuff that has yet to switch to www1 (e.g., I'm pretty sure it hasn't been rewritten yet): lair, nests, gathering, profile, horde/vault, bestiary, gem exchange, marketplace, Tomo, all actual Fairgrounds game, Coli home (can't check most of the pages since my dragons aren't fed right now), Dominance, search main/dragons/users, Scrying Workshop individual pages (assay bloodlines &c), Encyclopedia, wallpaper, achievements.
(Stuff that has been switched: clan, messages, shop home, auction house, trading post main, Swipp, Crim, Pinkerton, Baldwin, Crossroads, Skin info, Festive Favors, Play home, Fairgrounds (home tab only), Library home, Forums, World Map, forum search, Dressing Room, Scrying Workshop homepage, Support.)
A lot of the heavy-duty stuff has already been switched, and a lot of the things that need to be swapped now are fairly easy (encyclopedia pages, for example), but there's still a bunch of things that could potentially need to be rewritten before the achievements get fixed.
So uh... aside from that one clan with the creepy slavery lore, has anyone actually seen someone have their clan lore removed due to "gore"? Or any other reason? Because I keep seeing people claim that the staff deletes usermade lore that's ""gory"" (quotes used because they're comparing it to the official site lore... which still isn't all that gory to me?) but I've never heard of it aside from the aforementioned slavery clan, which was removed for the slavery portion and not gore iirc.
yeah, but generally people use "virtue signalling" to try to shut down what people are doing. it got popular as a way to imply nobody actually believes in (insert anything vaguely progressive here), that we're all just pretended to care about other people for backpats. that's what a-airt-rt meant, nobody's currently arguing that nobody does *anything* for attention
