Anon, I think if you have doubts about your treatment, presenting those doubts to the people treating you could give them a chance to explain what they think, and if they don't satisfy you with their answer then maybe a second opinion could help. My initial reaction is that you are probably just fine following what they've said, and that either DR anon's recommendation is overly proactive and/or that it is different if you have engaged with healthcare professionals who have diagnosed you. But, my experience with mental health is in a nonprofessional capacity (and a bit of a different area) so it's best to talk to professionals rather than listen to me.

Bring up your concerns to your healthcare providers and see what they say. But I imagine so long as you keep taking your prescribed medication (if you're on any) and can keep the violent thoughts/urges in check, you should be fine.

Oh, that makes sense. I definitely think I overreacted a bit after reading that post now; I should probably just trust that they know what they're doing since I'm doing fine and getting better with their help.
