so it turns out i've been living in a house full of mold for eight almost nine years
and i've been going actually, literally clinically insane for a few years, it was really sudden, but i was also abused when the mold started to affect me as well, so I thought it was all bc of the abuse, but it's never really made sense
the highest concentration of mold was in my room, but due to reasons i havent been in it for a while but after i cleaned it i got extremely sick. we discovered all the fucking mold and i was horrified
ive got all the symptoms of being poisoned by mold, and some of the long term effects of long term exposure (such as enormous memory gaps, sensitive skin, etc) i have
for the past few years i have been unable to breathe, sleep, get inexplicable nosebleeds, ive had an on and off headache for years, my memory slowly got worse to the point where i will forget what im going to say in the middle of saying it and cant get the words back, constant bronchial infections, my hair falls out more than i think should be normal, ive been so fatigued that leaving my house makes me feel sicker and tired, and i get sick any time i even come around a sick infectious person
all the patterns of me getting extremely sick for a few days correlate exactly with times our vents have been open. and every single problem i have inexplicably gotten over the last 7 years can be traced back to this fucking mold
we need to get a mold testing kit and see if its toxic, but i have the feeling it will be the reason i cannot be a normal human being and im super frustrated, yet relieved that this could be why... because you can get rid of mold
but i will probably have to live with some of these complications for the rest of my life
Holy shit anon, I am so sorry. I didn't even know that could happen. Would staying somewhere else temporarily help/even be an option? Is there medication or any kind of treatment? (if you were abused, srsly talk to someone; this is coming from experience.) I'd suggest more, but I really have no fucking clue to help in a situation like this. I wish you the best nonnie.
that's terrible! i hope the mold /isn't/ toxic at the very least. if you can, you might want to -get checked for asthma if you haven't been diagnosed w it. exposure to certain molds & materials might trigger asthma. -get checked for allergies. ironically long exposure to mold will make you allergic to mold. (coming from someone who was exposed to mold for a year and a half and then became allergic. fall sucks bc the light molding of fallen leaves is enough to give me red watery eyes. meds help w that though.) -if you have the possibility, get the hell out (as if you haven't figured this one out on your own). your grandma's dog's sibling's owner's cousin's couch is a better place than anything w mold! -if you're able to access a steam sauna or whatever they're called, those are good to clear your lungs with. obviously won't do miracles but it should make breathing a little bit easier. -fish and cod liver oil is good for your memory. (it won't give you back old memories obvs but still good for the brain to strenghten it for the future. tastes gross but it's healthy.) other than that, i hope things clear up for you! finding mold is gross and the effects of it suck.
i dont have asthma, i do have weakened lungs from getting pnuemonia when i was younger and its caused me to get bronchial infections easily. not fun!

i cant leave, im extremely poor and cannot afford better than where i live rn and i have 0 actual friends and all my family lives in another state
like i said, poor, so i cant really afford to go to a steam sauna, but i have found that a steamy shower hels. even though i feel cloggy, it eases up my chest pain a bit

i was just about to suggestion a steamy shower in lieu of a sauna. maybe a humidifier too...? and can you at least sleep elsewhere in the house other than your room? i'm sorry you're dealing with all this nonny, geez :/ i wish i could help somehow
