If my art ever gets posted anywhere I didn't explicitly authorize, even if they credit me, I'd get pissed. It's not theft in the same way as claiming something as your own, but it's still not cool.
yeah, i totally agree. but this is just a kid who doesn't know any better..? people saying they're reporting them for art theft aren't really being helpful, it'd be much more constructive to explain WHY that isn't allowed.
they actually do have credits, so that's honestly better than a lot of 12 year olds. idk, i was an internet noob like that in my preteens so i kinda feel for them. it probably doesn't feel good to be called an art thief when they just thought they were showcasing art they liked.
Honestly I think it will come down to their reaction. If they apologize and make it right, then that's good and I think people could move on. This is the same Dawls who was going around to adoptable shops and claiming they paid for art when they didn't, though. I highly doubt they don't know better.
I see it's been deleted from their account now, but they did have an adoptable by RandomDraggon (the person who does those cute nocturnes with emblems) that they claimed they drew themselves. And that IS theft.
Ok, but like you cant use the "they dont know any better" excuse to justify it. It's still wrong, rather they mean harm or not. And being lenient about it is just going to show them they can get away with it.
Its definitely still art theft. Theyre using it in a way they dont have permission for and its better they get a little heat now and understand it than to find out later in a different situation that can get them in real legal trouble.
Like, depending on who you're talking about, that shit can get real serious. But just because someone's young doesnt mean you need to pat their ass and explain everything in a nice polite way. They took something that didnt belong to them and they need to know that shits not okay. 12 is practically a teenager. Theyre not a five year old toddling around without knowledge of how the world works. "Dont touch shit thats not yours" is common sense to even a kid.
