slightly OT but I've been contacted twice through the site by people I was complaining about on AR who recognized themselves from the complaint/figured out who I was
and both times it went...really well?
like go figure. it's not like I rip on people personally or anything, it was more just "this person did this shitty thing, which was shitty, and I'm pressed now" complaining, but both times they actually sent me a message apologizing for being shitty, owning up to their shittiness, and promising to amend their shitty ways in the future. and as far as I know, they have? like one of them actually definitely has, and the other one I flight-changed so I never see them anymore, but I'd like to think they at least haven't done that particular shitty thing again
I think seeing somebody share their unvarnished opinion of your rude behavior on an anon comm can be a wake-up call for a lot of people.
Huh, that's actually really refreshing to hear! The FR community isn't perfect like a lot of people like to say it is, but it does seem to be actually pretty good.
:/ Unfortunately, the person I'm pissed about thinks they're doing a public service by crawling up my asshole, so I imagine anything less vague than "someone somewhere is annoying and shitty" would be brought out as proof that I'm ~not fit to lead~.
