I was thinking about collecting x99 of most food/material/trinket items and vaulting those. Maybe not the super-rare ones like Crimson Jadevines or whatever, but most of them.

Might this be a good idea?

Yeah. Also as a completionist/collector thing for when I get bored.

eh why not? could make you a nice profit one day if one of your vaulted things turns out to be a new baldwin/swipp component.

I do this! I mostly only do it for the stuff that I think is really pretty/cool/cute/interesting, but then I set myself a goal of at least three stacks of everything (I also collect the rare stuff but that doesn't have any stack goals). My vault is awesome, let me show you some shots:
