'new' mire flyer build

not really new i guess but basically just enables one-shotting of the toridaes again, however the venomous toridaes are rather quick now so they should be 2nd priority after scythe kamaitachis
118STR / 70QCK / 21VIT

I thought the 117 STR / 72 QCK build still worked? Sylvandyr has the Toridae as only needing 116 STR to be rally eliminated. And 117 still four scratches everything.

with 117 str you can't rally + eliminate toridaes at all, and they take 4 scratches instead of 3 to kill when rallied

Yes you can. Well at least the rally eliminate part. I don't know about the scratches part. Were you contused or something when you tried a rally eliminate with 117 STR?

Sometimes during heavy coliseum load (like at the start of a festival), the augment stones (berserker) don't register. Perhaps that's what's happening here, because 117 is still enough.

Tagging on this post with a mire flyer question

I'm still new to my mire flyer (crossing my fingers I don't have to restat the dragon I just tinctured like a month ago) and I'm not familiar with which enemies can be rally + eliminated, can anyone give me a link or something? I've been using scratch + elim, which works great when I'm lucky but leaves me restarting often enough that I've been wondering what all the fuss is about. Possibly this is why. ^^;

It depends on your STR. All enemies except the Brilliant Psywurm and Mossy Cerdae can be rally eliminated with a 117 STR dragon. If you have a 115 STR dragon, many enemies were tweaked with the new venue, so you now also cannot rally eliminate either podid, either toridae, or the Scythe Kamaitachi. (If you have a 115 STR dragon, I'd recommend tincturing it.)

ayrt

I have the 117str build. This is probably why I've been wavering over the mire flyer build; the physical packs always KO me and I lose a lot of time refreshing to get a good starting pack. Thank you for the tip! :)

Yeah, you always want to rally eliminate the physical packs. They may or may not still get a hit or two on you, but it's much better than scratch eliminating all of them! Depending on my mood, I'll sometimes rally eliminate the meditate packs so they don't get a hit and sometimes I'll scratch eliminate and hope the meditating enemy either meditates an extra time or hits a fodder. The plus side is if they hit a dragon, then you can do more scratching (or a sap) to build up breath or health while they meditate again. Unless I'm hit by a ton of dodging, I usually only have to restart once on the way to 7 (not counting if I meet a boss).

Good luck!

INCORRECT INFORMATION

Nothing against OP, they probably experienced a coli anomol. But I just wanted AR to know they are incorrect.

I went and tested this myself, the 117 str build is still very much able to rally+eliminate Toridaes, same as always. They actually only require 116 STR to be rally Eliminated. The only reason the build even uses 117 str is for the ability to scratch x4 the Cerdae/Brilliant psywurm.

(check out sylvs monster requirement guide to confirm this, they're excellent at keeping it up to date. https://c5a1253cf139bea77c55efb74522b35b9835d4aa.googledrive.com/host/0B17SsT1ETjiyckVmUXRvOHNTR1k/Coliseum%20Damage%20Calculator.html)
