#47 - And now for something completely different (Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)

This is a Star Trek anon comm now. Make it so, nonnies.

Just kidding!
Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.

Oh, and welcome to
The 47 Society, AnonRising!
*tosses confetti*

1) in my experience, it's an extremely small part of the community that tends to get blasted about 'crazy', it's an ever dwindling number, and it tends to be younger people still trying to get a feel for their boundaries

2) MrMoon regularly shit all over disabled people anyways, so. If you weren't otherkin you basically were part of the problem and worthy of contempt

1) that's not been my experience at all.

um, anon I replied to talked about "the community" so I didn't think they were talking about people at large, like you seem to be implying? (gosh I do hope you're different people, otherwise, how embarrassing for you...)

wait no, I think I got confused. how embarrassing for *me*. But yeah I mean, let's say we're talking about ND people in general vs. ND people on tumblr. is there a chance tumblr allows people to feel free talking about things and expressing problems that they wouldn't want to do in non-online spaces? Because I've seen people talk about that A LOT.

Dismissing something just because you (general you) see it on tumblr versus hear about it in non-online spaces is a really bad idea, i mean unless you think tumblr is this magical website that makes people completely different when they're on there...

sa again
ALSO if we're using "people I'm personally friends with" as a sample size, fuck that. That's not enough to make a judgement call.

da

things that I have always had a problem with, like this, are things I have internalized

but tumblr permits a community where I can share this without getting shot down right off

of course it's a "small community on tumblr" when people are too afraid to talk about it in a lot of other spaces, or when we only talk about it in spaces built for us without others looking in. tumblr is a rather unique space in that it allows us to connect like a space set up for ourselves, but it also allows those outside to look in without even seeking us out. that's kind of why you find a lot of things on tumblr you haven't seen elsewhere: you haven't seen our conversations like this before.
