#47 - And now for something completely different (Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)

This is a Star Trek anon comm now. Make it so, nonnies.
Just kidding! Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.
Oh, and welcome to The 47 Society, AnonRising!

Re: What will the Bogsneak market be like?
(Anonymous) 2016-09-19 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah, sure, that's the treasure price you put in for the finished recipe, but you also have to either spend additional treasure on ingredients (which can get mighty expensive) or you have to brew them yourself.
Let's say you're starting from scratch. You don't have any of the high level parts to make it. First you need to be at level 12 or rent from someone with a level 12 cauldron. Then you need 2 orange goo and 2 red goo, plus four broken bottles.
The bottles are easy enough, everyone has them. Red goo is about 7-10kt each. Orange goo is 6-7kt each, so if you're buying them you'll be spending between 26-34kt. Each time you brew it you get 2 reinforced glass beakers, and the recipe takes 1 hour 20 minutes.
Next you need to have or rent a level 13 cauldron. You need 1 reinforced glass beaker, 2 yellow goos, and 1 purple sludge to make 1 fine alchemical reduction.
Yellow goo is 7-10kt each, purple sludge is 5-6kt each. If you choose to buy the beakers rather than make them yourself they're 35kt each. Without buying the glass beakers you're spending 19-26kt on purple sludge and yellow goo. If you made your own beakers, add 1/2 the cost of making the beakers onto this cost (since you made two with the earlier recipe), making it 32-43kt total. If you buy one beaker at 35kt, you'd be spending 54-61kt on this recipe. It takes 2 hours each time you make this recipe.
You only get one of those alchemical reductions, so you'll have to repeat that twice before you can move on.
Next you'll need to own or rent a level 16 cauldron. This time you'll be making the imbued sulfur. For this you need 1 black slime, 1 white slime, 3 green ooze, 1 blue goo, and 2 fine alchemical reductions.
Black slime costs about 10kt each, white slime about 18kt each, green ooze about 4kt each, blue goo about 24kt each, and if you choose to buy the alchemical reductions instead of making them they'll cost you a whopping 95kt each.
If you don't buy the reductions, you'll be spending 128-150kt to get to this point (adding up everything you've spent buying the basic ingredients). If you buy the reductions you'd spend 254kt. These take 5 hours and 50 minutes to brew.
You only need 1 for the egg, though, so adding up all the time spent brewing (assuming you're not reducing your own mats in search of elusive colors) you'd tie up your cauldron for 11 hours and 10 minutes.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that you want to go wild and buy the imbued sulfur. That'll set you back a neat 375kt right now. Add in the cost of the other ingredients- 2 silver mucks, 1 grey slime, 3 purple oozes, and 1 blue ooze- and you're looking at spending 432.5kt if you have none of the ingredients on you at the time.
tldr; At best you spend hours reducing materials to get exactly what you need and only spend a little over 65kt (the hours you've tied the cauldron up costs you a lot more than that in lost profits though), at worst you're looking at spending 432.5kt and 12 hours.
Now, prices are inflated right now and they may go down in the future. But I highly doubt that it will crash the gen 1 market any time soon. It's just not cost or time effective.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-19 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)I don't think the people who want eggs for themselfes are going to lower the prices but the users who are already at level 16, casually reduce stuff all day long, e.g. for festival skins and currency, and therefore have got the ingrediences anyway. If they make the sulfur in one night and the egg in the next night they can produce one egg every two days as long as they don't run out of Blue Goo and Blue Ooze, without losing too much time because they wouldn't get up at night to switch the cauldron anyway.
Plus mny users aren't super hard business people who calculate their sellprice by looking at the time they wasted on producing the egg so I can imagine the price to fall down a bit! Maybe to 120kt or something on the long run, I dunno.
(Ok, I'm talking about the egg market because I know nothing about the GenOne market...)
+1
(Anonymous) 2016-09-19 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)at the very lowest I can see the eggs go for 100-200kT, and that's when someone's trying to sell quick
