#47 - And now for something completely different (Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)

This is a Star Trek anon comm now. Make it so, nonnies.

Just kidding!
Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.

Oh, and welcome to
The 47 Society, AnonRising!

does anyone else think after the new breed hype dies down that bogsneaks aren't gonna be very popular? idk i think they're gonna be like snappers with a few devotees while most people moon over more 'pretty' breeds.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-22 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
That is a good question. Although Snappers seem a tad uglier than these sneks, so I'm not sure. It seems like quite a few people like them though.

I prefer them to Snappers. They are at least sleek and powerful looking. I see Snappers as awkward and bulldog shaped. Baby Snappers are cute, though!

they're growing on me. some genes just look really good on them.

I can't get over the primary gradient covering glimmer, though. that's definitely gonna drive me away from the breed since glimmer is one of my favorite genes, but the gradient covering it makes it look flat and dull rather than the shiny sparkly gene it should be.

Huh. This is the first time I've seen someone not like that.

don't get me wrong, I enjoy the gradient

but when it's on top of glimmer it's just so off-putting

male bogs are updated snap males and can disappear, female bogs are precious fat lizard puppies who are better than every other breed

I'm not a fan of snappers but I quite like bogsneaks. They were genes really well, and the way their primary shows threw on underbelly and glimmer makes it a bit different from the same genes on other dragons, in a way I find kinda neat.

I like both snappers and bogsneaks so I wouldn't know

I doubt they'll be as popular in pastel lairs as coatls and skydancers, but the reception has been unusually positive considering it's not a breed that screams ~ dainty and cute uwu ~

+1

i don't know how popular nocturnes are now since the hype has died down, but i think both have got the new art thing going on for them - the genes and apparel look really good, but especially on bogsneaks because the art is even newer and they are robust whereas nocturnes are daintier so the detail gets lots on the tiny tiny limbs imho

i'm pleasantly surprised by the positive reaction and most people i've seen shouting how they love these chunky bog babies but yeah, we'll see

NAYRT
I didn't think I liked the bogsneaks when I first saw them. But then I scryed them and they looked really good with some genes, so now I plan to have at least a handful of them.

They really show off all three genes well. They have a good body for primary nice wings for secondary and a good belly/neck for terts they are actually a really well designed breed.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-22 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, I think they're going to continue being fairly popular. They look surprisingly nice with a lot of genes (the first breed that's made me want a bar/daub dragon!), and the art is better for them than for snappers. Plus they look like fat lizard puppies, which wins over a lot of people. Including me :D

but hey, I adore Mirrors, I need more cute puppy dragons.

A lot of people seem to genuinely like them. I'm a fan! They're even better because they provide a brewable egg and breed change scroll. The hype will die down but even the most unpopular of breeds still have fans.
