Just kidding! Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.

This is exactly what I think happened. Hence why I said "all out conquest" in my comment. I think they were willing to do a minor conquest with a theme and raffle and things like that. But then when Light announced they would go for conquest too, that amped it up, and they decided they wouldn't want a LvP style conquest a month before their holiday. And again, having been through LvP, I don't blame them.

I agree with your main point, but I think comparing it to LvP is kind of silly. That was a huge event, which Ice doesn't have the resources to pull off. Or the attitude, for that matter.

It would be neat if they wised up next year and decided to challenge some other flight for that week long in advance and make it a proper battle. At this point a contested dom IS the tradition, and they could lock down their plans and come in well prepared for both Icemas and Gala, instead of bitching about how dare anyone contest that week like last year. Dom is a competition, they should try competing a little.
