#47 - And now for something completely different (Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)

This is a Star Trek anon comm now. Make it so, nonnies.
Just kidding! Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.
Oh, and welcome to The 47 Society, AnonRising!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-24 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)That does sound like something I'd like. Into my list of to-read books it goes, then, thanks!

(Anonymous) 2016-09-25 12:37 am (UTC)(link)I do feel obligated to warn that they've got a lot of explicit fantasy sex, and the first two sets it's explicit BDSM. Not my personal cuppa, but it's written old-tyme-y enough (euphemisms for a lot of parts, no Nifty-type language) and I understood the character's personal motivations enough that I could roll with it. Didn't excite or revolt, I'd just sometimes skim until plot happened again. (And charmingly often plot happened in the middle of the bedroom scenes. I like an author who does that, it justifies them being there, and frankly people do talk while spooning or whatever.)
It occurs to me I might have liked Moirin's books more also because whips and chains don't excite her, she's more vanilla. Like I said, it makes sense for the first heroine! But by the middle of the second trilogy I was just done with it. Also done with the hero of those three because man did he whine a lot.
But man oh man that lush fantasy-Earth worldbuilding, that was good the whole way through.
