#47 - And now for something completely different (Part 2: Electric Boogaloo)

This is a Star Trek anon comm now. Make it so, nonnies.

Just kidding!
Since the attitude in the comm has chilled out a little, I'd like to try another post without a Wanker Thread to see how it goes. The Wanker Thread is still present on the comm, but hidden to you (for now) and will be brought back if any big drama occurs that people feel should be contained. You can still make complaints about things that annoy you on Flight Rising, but let's try and keep the vitriol at a minimum.

Oh, and welcome to
The 47 Society, AnonRising!

Newbie Welcome Packs

(Anonymous) 2016-09-25 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I've been toying around with the idea of sending welcome packs to new players (since my flight doesn't have an organized effort for this kind of thing) but I'm stuck on what to include. Food, familiars, apparel? What would you have appreciated most as a new player?

Even crappy rusty chests, and believe it or not, random gee-gaws. When you're a new player Crim's payouts are actually a big deal but of course when you're a new player you've got none of that. :/

I'm the anon who said families below, but I second random stuff too. Not just for Crim, but now it can be like a "Baldwin Starter Kit" - go melt this stuff!

Familiars. As apparel often wasn't to my tastes, and I had so few dragons that gathering food wasn't an issue. But I remember being so excited to get a free podid, even though the person handing them out warned me I would be swimming in them soon enough. (And I was just a handful of months later.) I also still remember the first familiar I got. I was so proud of it. And so proud when I finally had enough familiars to give one to each dragon. Plus they gave treasure and chests which was super exciting to newbie me.

Granted, I was a newbie two years ago, so this has likely changed. But I thought I would throw my $.02 in. I'm interested to see what responses you get!
