I understand both sides of this; it's frustrating to get strung along in an auction as the buyer, but it's also frustrating to feel like you're not getting the most from what you're auctioning.
I don't place Autobuys unless I have the dragon/item on the AH. making the enddates "24 hours after last bid placed" because that's more than enough time for someone to make a counterbid if they're invested in the auction.
