has anyone else been having trouble selling food on the ah recently?

(Anonymous) 2015-05-13 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. It has been absolute pain, I think I'm going to give up for the time being... with the new registration and more people getting into coli, it might get even worse, ugh.

It's kinda ridiculous tho, I don't find it worthy to list things for too low but I also feel bad hoardselling :/

ugh i do not want to go back to hoardselling. i could drop my per-point prices, but then i'd have to go back to using a calculator which will take forever....

seriously though, i have about 80k worth of food sitting in my hoard right now that i haven't been able to sell. wtf. and that's just from the last couple days.

Yeah, at least half of my auctions are coming back, often more, and that's after dropping the prices some too. I've seen quite a few people listing on the 30-35t per fp range (reaching 25/fp for plants), but I don't know if those stacks actually move reliably either...

Since it's been recent (started around the end of WavSat for me), I've been thinking newbies from this last window got into Coli fast enough to get plenty of food, while nobody is profiting enough for big lair expansions. Idk, it's a very random guess.

Hoardselling feels like such a waste. Sure, you get at least some treasure, but 1) it's so little and 2) it's food... I mean, that could be feeding a dragon somewhere! Lmao, I take pixel food way too seriously.

XD How politically incorrect am I for instantly associating it with "pixel dragons starving in Dragonhome"? hahaa

(irl that's the feeling I get when food producers decide to throw food away because the price is too low to sell, ngl)

My food's selling great, and the lowest I'm going is around 37t per point for plants, with meat at 40, seafood at 60 and insects at 70. A friend of mine is charging more than I am for plants and meat and they're still selling. Are your stacks too big? Are they expiring at weird times of day? Smaller stacks (25ish) sell better and a lot of people snap food up as it expires, so try to list at a time when a lot of people are online. Sometimes a bunch of auctions will expire anyway, but relist and they will go. You don't need to kill your food prices.

(second anon here, not op)

Eh, my stacks are always between 20-40. My timezone isn't great when compared to FR's, but I'm going to try listing during the (FR) evening. It's curious I wasn't having this issue before too, but maybe I've been listing at bad hours without realizing... worth a shot anyway, I guess. (Thanks for that heads up!)

my stacks are pretty small (5-10) but i have been listing them at weird times like right before rollover. maybe that'll help. thanks for the advice nonny!

NP. I will add that the new venue killed food sales a bit because it drops a shitton of four-pointers and everyone and their dog has been grinding there, but the drop will be temporary. NotN killed food prices for a while afterward too, but they went back up not much later. The next reg window will help, too.
