Other anon is correct. Normally we don't do raffles with profit pushes, but we had planned this raffle before we'd scheduled our profit push. So we decided to accept dragons, but in the interest of profit, we wanted to pay out low-ish prices and level them further if possible. It's not the most efficient way to make profit, but we don't want any accusations of holding a raffle to try to 'steal' Fire's win.
We've also had some issues with users who accidentally leave themselves marked online if they're offline. If you're getting impatient, cancel the CR and send to another volunteer, especially one who has accepted dragons recently (check the bottom of the Dragons Spreadsheet). We don't judge, I promise.
I'm not the OP, but thank you for the explanation! It's the best one I've heard so far, I admit to being curious as to why Lightning was holding a raffle for a simple profit push.
As a parenthesis, I will have to agree with you that it doesn't seem the most efficient way to profit (were you guys originally planning to conquest, or was it going to be a random raffle?), and will add that I've also seen complaints that Lightning never finished drawing winners on the OOF raffle for Earth Day Thunder, it was left to die after a while.
I don't mean to be rude, I know there are at least a few individuals there working their collective butts off, you sound like one of those people. I do think raffles are cute and all, even if they are "random", I love to gift/donate when possible too. It's, uh... maybe you guys need to have a little bit of work done in that internal organization aspect, is all :/
It was planned solely as a fundraising raffle and originally intended to be smaller in scale. Our profit push wasn't really announced until about a week before, and we were already gathering prizes, etc. for the raffle by then.
I was not around for Earth Day Thunder, so I don't know anything about that. :/ I admit that for a flight known for organization, I don't feel like we're actually /that/ organized, especially with some members being busy with real-life issues. But that's definitely something the dom leadership is working on.
aww thank you for the explanation anon! i hope my original post didn't come off as shitting on yall, i've helped with raffles before so i get the struggle. im just very impatient. (i also was trying to clear out space so i could try and hatch a clutch for #13131313 and was irrationally stressed out, lmao) you guys have been super awesome otherwise!
also i admit i was curious about the raffle! i definitely am digging it, cuz i love getting extra rewards for my normal exaltation schedule, but it seemed odd to have one for a profit push. it's cute though, the graphics are very nice and the little stormcatcher game is very creative. :3
