SO many mirror accents

The staff have all but said that apparel-like accents have less of a chance of winning. I think that might be what's going on.

I'm not going to really comment on skins because I never use them so don't particularly care about them. They seem nice but not anything I really gotta use? But yeah, why the hell does it feel like a Mirror skin (or two) wins every festival? What is up with that????

Accent-wise, I don't particularly care for Sylvan Swirls or Springly Sprouts because those sort of abstract-swirls-type accents have very little appeal for me. The also seem really plain when compared to some of the other entries. I like the rest of the accents and could see myself using them, and I'll definitely try out Botanys Back on one of my many Skydancers. My favorite is Garden Guardian even though I don't actually like Guardians as a species and own none, though this might convince me otherwise.

I didn't really keep up with the submissions thread, but from what I saw of it I would have most liked to see Hanami by TokiToki (fave), Mycelium Matters by Kryptographer, Renewal by Maybels or Raindrops by Seeker win.

+1 on Mycelium Matters. That one caught my eye instantly and I was reeeeaaaally hoping for it to win.

I mean it was a nice accent but it wasn't particularly outstanding to me.

I actually love that mirrors seem to get skins every festival because I'm a huge sucker for mirrors (and they don't get anything outside of festivals godDAMN)but that Sylvian Swirls accent just seemed....odd? As in, odd that it won. It doesn't really seem 'nature-y' outside of it being green and having vague leaf shapes. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but it hardly screams festival skin.

Wild Predator though, I absolutely adore. I might need to get another mirror just to have that skin permanently.

The winners have made me realize I am not a big fan of nature stuff in general and have very few dragons that fit any of the accents.

Bark Warrior and Botanys Back are probably my favorites. Still haven't been able to snag Botanys Back in the marketplace and haven't even seen it listed on the AH. I have a feeling thats going to be the most popular accent of the fest.

agreed. I have some brownish dragons, but none of these appeal to me.

Some of my favourite festival accents have been for female Ridgebacks <3

I'm grabbing two of everything just so that I can have it, but I'm not expecting to use anything besides botany's back and maybe the fae one. Whoever mentioned the high ratio of mirror skins is right on, they're one of my least favorite breeds and there seems to be at least one mirror skin every festival.

I liked the Wildclaw accents

I thought Garden Guardian was really good but previewing it on my dragons I now think it is really, really, reallllly good and I need one for each female Guardian I own plus more for future ones I may own.

poor nature, they have such a boring element for their festival. all the skins reflect that, sadly, regardless of skill. my faves are the rafflesia and stone golem one, but man, this is such a disappointingly dull round of winners.

again, not saying anyone's a bad artist. there's just only so much you can do with brown-green-gray tones and leaves and branches.

Honestly, I am not a fan of about half of them. I understand there weren't many good entries (I mean 60% were dragon tree tinsels!), so I can see why comparatively those mirrors won, but I don't think they deserved to. Same goes for the SD accent. Then again, maybe I have just yet to see a dragon I have liked it on.

Either way, I think at most 6-8 accents/skins should have been selected this round.

i think it's a pretty good crop of winners this time. i want almost all of the accents this time, especially garden guardian and botanys back. and the skins are mostly pretty nice-looking too.

I'm really surprised that mirror swirls accent won? Like, don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of the whole swirly art nouveau thing, and Tettix's accents specifically (From the Observatory was one of the highlights of the whole year for festival accents as far as I'm concerned). But there was nothing special about this one, and it's barely on-theme.

Considering how much mirror stuff they had to choose from, it just seems like a weird choice.
