Oh... I don't know if that thread merits a spot in the wanker thread, but I just had this person do an annoying thing to me that might justify it so I guess I'll share.
I'm doing a giveaway for Mistral, and it's in the form of an RP. Just a really casual thing, it seems to be going well so far. I made a post where a dragon does some swordplay. It's fairly silly, in fact it's based on the game Fruit Ninja, so it's not meant to be realistic at all, and I thought it was fairly obvious. This is just a casual thing, after all.
Well, this person seems to disagree, or they're a huge nerd about swords and unrealistic sword fights are their pet peeve, or idk but they made an RP post where their character criticizes the performance, complete with more than one YouTube link where some guy discusses why swordfights in movies are unrealistic.
I'm not really sure what to make of it. They might feel like they were being helpful or informative, but it didn't come off that way. It felt passive-aggressive and just... weird. I'm annoyed and I feel like I'm being called out for this silly casual thing. I've been debating asking them to not harsh the vibe of the game like that, but maybe I'm overreacting? Should I just let it go and say nothing?

holy hell, I'm so sorry. I had them do something similar to a Not Deeply Serious post I did which is what put them on my radar, and generally they seem to enter every single fucking lore-adjacent thread with absolute over-confidence, usually coming off really patronizing?? and presenting their opinion being The Gospel Truth??
Considering they, from the sound of it, made a fairly massive post, I think you're well within your rights to just be like "It's Not That Deep" in response

That is exceptionally obnoxious and passive-aggressive and you have every right to tell them so, though I expect that with that amount of effort they're hoping to get into a fight. Honestly, I would outright report the post, but that's me.
i'm way too socially awkward to feel qualified giving advice on what to do, but like...yikes nonny, im sorry you had to deal with that. it sucks when people mess up things that are clearly just supposed to be fun and casual.

Deliberate failing on a captcha because the captcha is actually unreadable to a human in a way it wouldn't be for an actual bot is a sign the captcha is broken. Do not even try to defend this.
Remember, bots do not have eyes. The difficulty seeing images because of the backgrounds simply don't exist for them. This is mind-bogglingly stupid design.

Except from what I am aware the "I am not a robot" ones are effective not because you have to click a box but because of what they analyze behind the scenes. Things like the path your mouse takes to the box, where you click in the box, how quickly you filled out things before getting to the box, and other factors that aren't all public from what I saw. While they look simple from a user's perspective, they are actually anything but from behind the scenes. So I don't think that is a practical solution for a small website like FR.
From what I've read on captchas, just recoloring and rotating the images on a background should be enough without trying to reduce contrast (like sticking the dragon in a camouflaged spot or having it be an excessively complex background) should be enough. As that is a lot of training images that would have to be programmed into the bot. Asking questions might also work, if FR wanted to go there. Maybe? I'm not a computer expert and am only going off of what I have read.

Also obviously I don't know what you wrote but if it was the dragon just doing showy things with a sword instead of actually fighting seriously or to the death, people actually do that for fun or tradition because sword dances and performances are a thing so it's doubly ridiculously for catgame to storm in like that.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll definitely try listing him at 500G first and going from there when I sell him. Whoever suggested offering a tinic so whoever buys him could change his build, that's an awesome idea!

yeah. hardly anyone grinds the golem workshop enough to encounter them on a regularly basis so they stay at around 10-12kg. you can grab them for 8kg if someone's doing a quicksale or haggling, but most people want like at least 10kg for them. i sold mine for an equivalent of ~12kg in items (speedy + shadow sprite + akirbeak)

I spent about 10kg in items and currency getting one just the other day. I don't think they sell for 11-12 I see those same names a lot. 8-10 is more likely and I would suggest trying to haggle if you can or if you're selling go below AH if you want it to move.

I spent 8.5 mil on one, so 10kg is about right with the current exchange rate. I wouldn't go over that though, as they can vary a bit and if you wait and keep your eyes peeled, you might find a deal.
Agreed - normally m pearlcatchers with opal are my fave, but the colours are working better for the guardian, I reckon!
