Some dumb problem I have with the new coli updates and the additions of new monsters is that... they look stronger than the old ones.

Like, the new toridae that have been added feel like we should be fighting THOSE at level 24 and not the toridae that were originally in the mire. Waterway toridae are these huge beasts but the mire ones are gators with a few spikes on em. The oldies look like wimps compared to the new ones :c

They most likely got mutated and hulked out bc of the weird things that are down there in the drains bud.

What we are fighting in the mire is their more natural state.

this, man. I feel like a lot of the newer coli familiar designs are overly detailed too, and that they don't read very well in the actual coli imo, and it's especially glaring in the venues they revamp and flood with new enemies. like I could barely tell the new chimeras in the updated arena were even chimeras until I took a closer look; their designs were so BUSY.

though to my surprise I actually quite like a lot of the new waterway familiars oddly enough; they look pretty nice in the coli, but the palette on a lot of them is so bright and saturated that they don't mesh too well with the older enemies they now accompany. the toridae are the worst offenders imo, especially the white one.

does anyone else feel that way, like a lot of the newer coli familiars don't scale down to coli size all that well, or that new familiars clash with the old ones when added to a newly revamped venue?

totally agree, it's especially jarring with the river flights. there's a pack that's one of the new ones with one of the old and it's just looks so... odd

A thousand agreements. I feel like initially, the new artists tried to make new stuff at least reasonably blend, but I think now it's all getting waved aside with a "We'll bring the old art up to match the new stuff," and the problem is I like a lot of that old art that's being thrown out. Not all of it--I remember just the other day I was looking at the Quartz and thinking how hideous they were; not entirely unrealistic, point of fact I own a lot of Rose Quartz like that, but for dragons to collect you'd expect something in the more classic crystal form. But I still like a lot of it.
