man, every time i finish saving for whatever sprite im aiming for, i end up having to wait like two weeks for the price to come back down from whatever weird price point they were at before

it pains my sad dragon heart that we probably won't get anything like first year NotN ever again, it was the perfect storm of insane profitability and dumb ass drama

it makes me sad that it probably won't be as much of a shitshow this year. like, the lag was awful, but it was pretty fun after that initial panic. :') i got a great breeding pair out of the first two eggs i found and then just flipped chests for money until it was no longer profitable. WHAT A TIME

i do slightly resent it though because i bought an arcane sprite during that time and that kickstarted my obsession with getting a full sprite set.... (except light because i am too middle class for that)

I'd be down with this, except for the fact that someone would probably abuse it, someone else would get mad that someone got it first, and then it would fall apart and people would be angry.

its like if i contributed say 10k in the pot and if you contribute gems you get a share and the more people you invite get a share of the pot too. so youre going to contribute some and get your friends to contribute some and soon we’ll have enough to afford 1 light sprite!

since im kicking it off ill be the boss ig? (with like 2 or 3 trusted people on a public spreadsheet) and like the sprite will go to the first donor then we save up again and it goes to the second donor and so on so on

you do realize this is exactly how pyramid schemes work though, right? you start everything up as king of the mountain and first in line, you recruit friends to be at the top of the pile behind you so you get yours faster, they recruit people so they get theirs faster, and it continues downwards forever and ever. but the promise of getting all these people light sprites is totally unrealistic - they're something like 25 mil now. if you had, say, 50 people donating 10k a week to the pot, you'd maybe get that much in a year. but that isn't accounting for the absurd inflation on the things... you'll need more and more donations each time. i mean, if you're enthusiatic about it and think you can get people on board, then don't let me stop you or anything. flights manage to do the exact same thing with lair expansions, but those work(ish) because they're exposed to a much larger userbase, are on forums much more conducive to the organization of them (pings are insanely useful for this), and even the most expensive lair expansions are exponentially smaller than the cost of a light sprite. no inflation either. this doesn't have a shot in hell of working if it's exclusive to AR tho, rallying up an anoncomm is like herding cats.
