Here are some of the sillier ones, I spotted. I think what gets me the most is that these people are coming up with these mouthfuls just to talk about how open they are.
In my day it was ok to say you didn't have a set preference. It really depends on you and the individual you like.
Excuse me for being ignorant with this but... ace and aro but has a girlfriend? If you're aro you don't have romantic feelings, right? I can understand ace people having relationships because sex isn't that important but aren't romantic feelings kind of important if you're going to be in a romantic relationship? Whaaat
i'm guessing it's that joke that flies around tumblr. something about how if you're aromantic, you might experience sexual attraction, if you're asexual you might experience romantic attraction, if you're aromatic you smell good, and if you're automatic you might be greased lightning.
i noticed that and someone saying they're "heteroromantic asexual" which... is straight really? except then they said they're agender, but if you're agender can you even be heteroanything? i'm so confused
okay, I get that some of this stuff is a bit silly. like the really really long mouthfuls of words and labels.
But what's so silly about that first post? she's a lesbian. a girl who likes girls. Or that person who is cis but not straight. grey-ace trans man is also fine. hell, even the "transman with a penchant for the D" isn't that bad. gay trans guy, whatever. (although I do feel a little weird about that trans man who is... gay for girls? what? wouldn't that make you straight?)
this stuff just isn't that cringey. I mean, I'm not even seeing any "voidgender" with star/starself pronouns on here. now THAT'S cringey. this? this is nothing. it'd be different if this was just some introduction thread or something, but this is a thread specifically for talking about LGBTQA stuff.
The person who is cis, but non hetro is silly, because they don't want to be labelled as cishet so they simple default to cisnonhet without actually saying they homo by default?
Essentially, that person (and each person highlighted) are coming up with a new and unique way to prove that they are special snowflakes like being "normal" is bad.
(And ironically, proving that they are not all that unique of an individual)
I dunno, people can know they're not straight without knowing exactly what their sexuality is. maybe they've had homosexual relationships before, but they can't decide whether they're bi, pan, gay, or what. I try not to instantly assume that everyone is just trying not to be cishet.
