I have a few G1s that I hatched during Xmas & April Fools that I realize I really don't have the time (or room) to gene up, let alone the fact they're not exactly the nicest colors. Other than their hatch dates, most of no redeeming qualities about them, however they -might- be someones dream dragon.
The two from Xmas seem to have the best color combos (Purples & Blues, Pinks & Maize), but other than that...
I have 5 in total (2 Xmas, 3 April fools). None are bred, two are named just to identify them from unnamed fodder.

So, I started an accent shop, pinged GASP, and got literally no hits after over two days. I really do enjoy making accents, not just for the profit, and I do want to get better, but I don't know where to start. I'm learning to draw traditionally right now, but I'm completely new to PS, and I'm not sure which I should focus on first, if either.

trad art and digital have a lot of crossover, but they have some very different skills required! are you using a tablet or a mouse, anon?

you know after trying to gene a dragon with sunshine, im a little disappointed it isn't brighter? or that might just be because i have it as a tert. maybe when glimmer comes out it'll look a lot brighter/more sunny-looking than just straight underbelly?

i have one of those macs with the fancy "retina" screen, which basically just means that more pixels are being crammed onto the screen and it makes pictures/text very clear and sharp
BUT many websites are not optimized to display images that look good on retina screens, and fr is one of them. the result being that the images on the site look kinda dull/jpegy/just generally not as crisp and beautiful as they could be and idk it bothers me
like i downloaded the skin/accent psd, which is full quality, and saw the potential of the perfect crisp dragon art and now i really wish i had it on the site

This is just a resolution difference, though the new displays are moving towards 5k pixels. There is no way an average website will be using the space in the next 5 years. Most websites are just optimized for 900x1200 pixels these days with flexibility for mobile.
Depending what retina display model you have your viewing area can be anything from 2880x1800, 2560x1600, 2304x1440 to 5120x2880 px.
My guess its stretching the image to make it fit the same area, it makes a loss of quality.

I just put myself on the gen 1 hoarders pinglist (I've missed a few auctions lately I would have gone to the MAT for and figured it was time) and I immediately kinda regret it, because 90% of the first gens you get pinged for are straight up exalt bait. Nobody wants your coral/swamp/violet monstrosity, my god, take it out behind the shed and put it out of its misery.

Around 3 hours of leveling two exalt fodder at once in the Mire should do it even if your sniping and luck are terrible. Even if you only make 2kT per dragon, you can sell the food and podid claws on the AH, hoardsell the rest.

I don't commission art often but is that a common thing? I don't understand why I should lose 25% of what I paid if the artist suddenly decided they do not want to finish the piece.

Yeah, that's...hmmm. I mean, if YOU decided you no longer wanted them to commission the piece, I'd understand them taking 25% for time and effort already spent. But if THEY decide not to finish it, they get to keep the money? That's...I don't think so.
