are there any dragons you keep but don't ever breed, and why? i have character dragons that i kind of want to keep unbred for character reasons, but it's so tempting to just breed them because i want to see what their babies look like
I never breed any of my dragons because I don't want to deal with having to sell the hatchlings. Also, about half of my dragons are firstgen and if I decide I want to sell them in the future they're pretty much worthless if they've been bred.
- Go to the thread of an accent-maker you like (this weighs the dice towards lairs of people who have similar taste as you)
- browse through their pinglist. people who put themselves on pinglists usually have a fair bit of money, and are into dolling up their lairs and getting super pretty dragons, accents, and apparel.
this is just a small tip and maybe it's really obvious, but I never thought of doing it before. I just spent a very happy half hour squealing over a whole bunch of pretty dragons, and now I have a bunch of new projects I want to try :)))

None. Many users come from tumblr that think mental illness is a fashion statement meant to be worn like clothes. You can change your mental illness at anytime to boot!

Personally, I think it would be interesting to start off an account by hatching a lot of eggs, and see how long it would take me breeding those random gen1s and their descendants together to create pairs that consistently produce nice color schemes.

obviously the site has a recurring "glitch" that makes a bunch of code appear from nothing and vanishes if you so much as think about screencapping it, and then half of the people subject to said "glitch" pick a shit tert anyway for shits and giggles. it's the only logical explanation
Couldn't someone just create a second account and claim it was their significant other? Provided you were smart and didn't interact with the side the Staff wouldn't have a reason to be suspicious and ban you.

There are plenty of people who do that... not sure if any have been banned yet for that though. In my experience in seeing those people is that they're usually legit. Their significant others tend to interacting with the community and speak for themselves.

nature's raffle attendants are so adorable, especially verdice--every time they accept dragons from someone they make up a little story about what the cr'd dragons are up to with the gladekeeper. a couple other attendants have done the same thing with dragons i've sent 'em. keep up the good work ya'll, you are awesome and adorable.

so i didn't realize that mods are retroactively enforcing rules about usernames that were established AFTER i registered, but apparently if you created a username with a word that's banned now but was not banned at the time, they will suspend your account. same with dragons. and i dont have near enough gems/treasure to change mine. :( RIP my lair

do you guys dig during festivals in hopes of grabbing chests, or do you keep gathering where you usually gather, just in the festival element?
i've been digging this whole time, but honestly i get one chest maybe every 3 festivals. not sure if my luck is shit or what, but tbh i'm starting to think maybe i should be using the time to try and scavenge eggs or collect swipp materials if the elements align. idk.

Anyone else on the dragon website feeling kind of blasé about the dragons themselves? It feels like it's been a long time that I've seen a dragon that REALLY needs to be a long-term part of my lair. First push I did, I had so much trouble not keeping fodder, and now I'm just shrugging and exalting whatever comes through my lair.
It sounds like you might need to do a lair purge. which maybe sounds counterintuitive, but a lot of older players (me included) get kinda bored of their dragons and then suddenly find their interest renewed when they clear out a bunch of space. it gives you room to try out new themes, breaks you out of whatever your tastes were locked in to 4 months ago, etc.
I took a bunch of screenshots of my prettiest dragons, then sold/exalted all but about 15 of them. suddenly I'm browsing the AH looking for shinies and getting excited again, over new colors and genes this time.

Do you think it's more efficient to level one fodder at a time in the kelp beds or two at a time in the mire?
You're going to get different answers to this. I've seen people swear by the Mire method, but I hate it so much. It takes me about three minutes to train a dragon to level 6 in the Kelp Beds, so I do it that way.

How well do you think a pastel firstgen outside of the typical banana/rose/seafoam/sky combo would sell? All its colors are considered pastel but it's not a combination I'd ever seen before so idk how to even price it. Is there a base-price for pastel firstgens?
really depends on the coloring. I find that if the eyes match the secondary color, it will pretty much sell itself.
